Annette Portaro served as the Director of Corporate Learning and Communications for Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation, a regional airline carrier leading the carrier’s Executive leadership and team performance improvement efforts. After completing 25 years with Air Wisconsin, Portaro joined the consulting world and provides training solutions to universities, elementary and secondary educators, government agencies, airlines, manufacturers, food delivery and production, and wildlife research.
Her processes and tools have become a deeply embedded resource allowing executives and their team members to interact effectively by identifying and valuing personal strengths, which is crucial to good leadership, teamwork and organizational effectiveness. She places high emphasis on creating an engaging and hands-on learning environment that allows participants to walk away with concepts and tools they can put to immediate use.
She has extensive experience as a training manager and facilitator focusing on leadership and team development skills for effective organizational development. A graduate of James Madison University, she also received her Master’s Degree in Applied Leadership for Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin. Annette received her Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Qualification in 2000 and her Emotional Intelligence Certification in 2011 through Otto Kroeger Associates of Fairfax, VA, and is a registered SAM vendor with the federal government. She is an Adjunct Faculty member within the University of Virginia’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and the Community College of Philadelphia’s Corporate Solutions delivering programs to both the private and public sectors.
Portaro lives in Pennsylvania and travels extensively to provide training for clients around the country as well through her company, Bridge-It Training Solutions.
